Timothy Olyphant Officially Joins Horror Western Bone Tomahawk

The Crazies and Justified star Timothy Olyphant was cast in the cannibal western horror thriller Bone Tomahawk. After seeing Olyphant in The Crazies (remake), I know he will fit in perfectly with what this movie has to offer. Olyphant will star along side Kurt Russell (Escape From New York), Peter Sarsgaard (Green Lantern), Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) and Richard Jenkins (The Cabin in the Woods).

With a cast like that, this movie promises only one thing, pure good-old-fashion entertainment. The film is a brutally violent and character driven as its story unfolds and tells the journey of four men, and their “attempt to rescue a group of captives from a band of cannibalistic troglodytes that live beyond the edge of civilization.

Kurt Russell portrays a sheriff and gunslinger, opposite to Sarsgaard who will portray a younger cowboy, Jenkins will play an old cowboy (probably in search of a last gunfight), Carpenter play one of the captives. While Timothy Olyphant’s character John Brooder, “an eloquent sharpshooter who moved to the frontier in order to satisfy the dark impulses that lie beneath his polished exterior.”

Screenwriter S. Craig Zahler (The Brigands of Rattleborge) will direct the horror-western from a script that he also wrote.
