I can come back as one-armed or a one-handed Jedi that’s still around that didn’t actually die.”

While attending a press conferences for the film Chinese Zodiac (CZ12), action star Jackie Chan mentioned that Sylvester Stallone gave him a role in The Expendables 3. According to Chan, his role will be more than a mere cameo. Chan explained:

Sly had invited me to be in Expendables 2, but I was too busy filming CZ12 and couldn’t make a commitment to the film. But he did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes.”

There’s still no official word on what role will Jackie portray in The Expendables 3. Ethan Anderton at First Showing noted that Chan asked Stallone if the third film would be a “buddy-buddy movie,” which it apparently is. Anderton assumed this could mean that Jackie Chan could be some sort of sidekick, but that’s just his speculation for now.

Stallone has also expressed interest in working with Harrison Ford and Wesley Snipes, there are rumours about Nicolas Cage possible involvement in the third action-packed film.

First Picture of Harrison Ford Training Rookies in Ender’s Game

Today Entertainment Weekly posted a new photo from the upcoming scifi film from director Gavin Hood (Tsotsi, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Ender’s Game.

Ender's Game

Ender’s Game

Anyone that has read the 1985 novel of Orson Scott, Ender’s Game, would understand why it took more than two decades to adapt it to the big screen. The first challenge would be shooting a movie about pint-sized military recruits fighting each other in a futuristic, space Battle School, not to mention capturing its more complex themes about war and morality.

The big screen adaptation stars Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Ben Kingsley (Mandarin), Asa Butterfield (Ender), Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Viola Davis, Nonso Anozie, Stevie Ray Dilmore, Andrea Powell, Moises Arias, Conor Carroll, Aramis Knight, Brendan Meyer, Jimmy ‘Jax’ Pinchak, Suraj Parthasarathy and Khylin Rhambo. The film will arrived in theaters on November 1, 2013.

The movie is as it goes:

In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.

Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

In the image below, which was recently released by EW, we see the first glimpse of Asa Butterfield (right) as Ender, standing in line with other new recruits known as “Launchies” during his time the Battle School. Asa is facing the imposing the Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford). In the novel, Ender was never sure if Graff was manipulating him, or whether he just saw great potential in him and wanted to foster it.

Gavin Hood stated that the actors tried to mirror their  characters’ emotions. “The relationship between [Harrison] and Asa was very close, but he didn’t overly befriend him off the set. He helped Asa by allowing that slight sense of intimidation to be there.”

So Asa Butterfield was intimidated by legendary actor Harrison Ford, that’s some good coaching right there. By the way don’t forget to like Ender’s Game official Facebook page.

Carrie Fisher Would Also Join Star Wars Episode VII

Although the next episode of the Star Wars saga is a few years away (2015) the speculation is growing by the day, as the fans are eager to know who’s comming back. With the recent reports that Harrison Ford is open to reprising his role of Han Solo, and Mark Hamill‘s announcement that George Lucas spoke to him and Carrie Fisher about the new trilogy, many people are wondering.

Now Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia herself is on the record after saying she’d join the film if asked. “Yes, sure. Wouldn’t you?” that’s her reply when she was asked about reprising her role.

Nicolas Cage is Not Confirmed in Expendables 3

Sylvester Stallone informed Deadline that he “has no knowledge of Nicolas Cage joining Expendables 3.” Sly also added that any reports that Nicolas Cage was in negotiations for the film are false. However this does not rule out Cage in Expendables 3, but he’s no longer a confirmed member of the mercenary team.

A while back, Sly told the Spanish newspaper El País about the upcoming film of his franchise that he had high hopes to get on the set Harrison Ford, Mickey Rourke and Wesley Snipes.

I’m not crazy of seeing Cage in the Expendables 3, it would be cool, but there are other actors who could join this action franchise, lets not forget about Michael Biehn a.k.a. Duane ‘Hicks’ (Aliens), Kyle Reese (The Terminator). Let’s see whats in store for the not so Expendables movies that we have come to really enjoy.

Harrison Ford is Open to Wear Solo’s Vest in Star Wars Episode VII

Ever since Disney bought Star Wars from George Lucas and the announcement of Episode VII for 2015 has put all the fanboys on the edge. So far a Matthew Vaughn (X Men: First Class) has been rumored to take over the upcoming trilogy. The new films is on earty stages, one of the ideas is to bring back all the old characters and have them hand the series off to the new guys. The catch is that old actors would come back, and so far it sounds like they’re all in.

Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are,” a highly placed source that is close to the film told EW. He’s referring to Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, who have evidently all been approached to return. Hamill and Fisher must have accepted the opportunity without much delay, but Ford won’t move so fast with  I assume Fisher and Hamill jumped at the chance, but it’s reported that Ford won’t move forward with contracts until a script and director are in place.

Nicolas Cage will be in The Expendables 3

During an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País, Sylvester Stallone confirmed that Nicolas Cage would be in the third film of the franchise. Sly was also hopeful for Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, and the return of Mickey Rourke. (Rourke turned down his appearance in The Expendables 2 to do Seven Psychopaths).

In the words of action-star Sylvester Stallone, The Film Stage posted this key excerpt from the interview, “We are preparing the film with the same passion and commitment as the previous two. We have confirmed Nicolas Cage, a master actor who gives a veneer intellectual group. Hopefully we can get Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Mickey Rourke. That is the great mission of the producer. We will continue with the same narrative scheme, the agility and the frenziness, which are inherent to the saga. I can not guarantee if it will be the last. In the beginning there were going to be only two films, but the affection of the people encouraged us to work on a third. I guess as long as we amused ourselves by offering fun to the people, we can continue playing The Expendables. For now we are not as expendables as it should and as some critics want.”

So far there are no words on what Cage’s character will be like, lets hope it combines all the characters he’s played, along with all weapons he uses bear his visage in some way.

‘Will we see Cage swinging a chain with a mad-like stare? Let’s hope so.’
