At the beginning of the year, thanks to the promotion of her fellow canadian singer Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen reach the number one of Youtube with her single ‘Call Me Maybe. The hit was so big that a several number of parodies have been done using the single.

On July 15, south korean singer Psy uploaded his music video ‘Gangnam Style’. The melodies and the dancing were so unique, original and catchy than american singers like Britney Spears got addicted to the single. She presented herself in Ellen Degeneres show trying to do the ‘horse riding dance’. The Gangnam Style trend was so big, he banished ‘Call Me Maybe’ and became the new Number 1.

Justin Bieber – Baby – Youtube Views [25-11-2012].

Watching these numbers, the ‘Beliebers’ (that is the name for a fanatical devotee of Justin Bieber) started a campaign to put Justin Bieber first single ‘Baby’ up in number one, and they did. While Psy was parked at 700 million views, Justin got to the 800 million views. That rank must now be updated. A few days ago, Gangnam Style returned to the Number 1 position in Youtube Most Watched Video.

Thanks to the fact that the runner Bieber single was the first one uploaded, 2 years ago; the market who still watch that video is in a high percent a Belieber. On the other hand, Psy uploaded Gangnam Style on July 2012, there are still many people who hasn’t seen the music video or hasn’t forgotten about it. Above of that, Psy reaches to a demography of kids, teens, adults and seniors, male or female, meanwhile Bieber song is dedicated to female teens and young adults. This Number 1 rank in Youtube has not put the singers one against each other, according to their shared manager Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber and Psy might be preparing a collaboration album.

PSY + McHammer = Gangnam Can’t Touch This Style

During the American Music Awards 2012 celebrated yesterday, the crowd burst in excitement when Korean Youtube hit Psy appeared singing the Gangnam Style with rap legend ‘Mc Hammer’.

Nathan Sykes and Siva Kaneswaran from the boyband ‘The Wanted’ singing ‘The Gangnam Style.’

The performance was presented by Will.I.am. With a group of flashes, strobe lights, back dancers, bedazzled pants and sunglasses, Psy began her presentation of his most famous song Gangnam Style. Everything was going pretty regular; you can see shots from the audience, even other singers doing the ‘gallope-dance’ such as the guys from ‘The Wanted’.

With the end of the second chorus of the song, the audio went down and the audience heard “Stop. Hammer Time.”

The rapper, once known as Stanley Burrel appeared next to the korean, and join in a mashup of Gangnam Style‘ and Hammer’s ’2 Legit to Quit’ that made the audience dance the house down.

Oppa Madonna Style!

Even though Lady Gaga statements rejecting the possibility of collaboration with Madonna, “The Material Girl” seems careless towards Gaga’s ditch. The 54 years old singer is now joining the hottest kid in town, south korean rapper PSY and his Gangnam Style.

During a concert in New York City, meanwhile Madonna was singing a mashup between “Gangnam Style” and her own “Give it to me”, she and her dancers stop the elaborated choreography to introduce the singer whose Youtube video has passed the 700 million views.

Madonna joins the list of several artist that has accompanied the south korean singer dancing his hit. Britney Spears did it on Ellen Degeneres Show. Glee did it. Former Madonna dancer, Daniel Cloud Campos did it. Even Psy did another version of the song along side korean singer Hyuna.

Here is the video of Madonna and Psy together.

Gangnam Style + Mortal Kombat

The collection of parody videos relating south korean artist, PSY, famous hit, “Gangnam Style” keep coming and coming. Now it is time for the characters from cult fighting game “Mortal Kombat” to take place and dance the “Gangnam Style“.

Mileena, Scorpio and Jade on “Mortal Kombat VS Gangnam Style”

Even though Mortal Kombat is a game focused in battle, gore and violence, I remembered the first time I played it like the first time I saw “The Simpsons“, is a memory that cannot be erased. The first release of the game was in 1992 for the arcade console; because of the creativity given in the bases of the project, the details of each character, the new violence theme and blood bath specifications never seen before, helped the game deserve the loyalty from gamers.

The production of this video exhales effort and dedication, the shots, the scenario and the choreography but must of all, the character development is the most attractive feature of the parody. Each character with its own well designed costume.

The Walking Dead + Daniel Cloud Campos + Gangnam Style

It was friday afternoon and I was surfing the internet and browsing on twitter, just looking in case something big happens. Meanwhile I catch up with a tweet from The Walking Dead writer and executive producer, Glen Mazzara. The tweet said “THE DANCING DEAD” – DANIEL CLOUD CAMPOS” and I started thinking where do I heard that name.

The Walking Dead Executive Producer, Glen Mazzara

And it just brought back to me, Daniel “Cloud” Campos was one of Madonna’s main male dancers during her tenth album “Confessions on a Dance Floor” Tour. You can see Daniel in Madonna music videos: “Hung up” and “Sorry”.

The Dancing Dead scene

This talented dancer has just released his latest video on his Youtube channel, “The Dancing Dead” combines dance techniques and zombies. At this point, you might think “Wow that ‘s an early point of view, mixing zombies with dancing”. But there’s more, Campos combine several techniques and cultural references during his performance, some techno, some electro, some Elvis and the hottest song on radios right now, Korean singer PSY, Gangnam Style.

Enjoy this art salad.

Glee Goes “Gangnam Style”

It was about time. Glee has always been famous for taking mainstream song and put it on stages. It happened to Lady Gaga songs, happened to Rebecca Black Youtube hit “Friday” and recently it happened to 2012 canadian revelation Carly Rae Jepsen with her song “Call me Maybe”. So it was clearly stated that the hit from South Korean Rapper PSY, “Gangnam Style” was up next.

Artie Abrams (Kevin McHale) and Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss) on shooting Gangnam Style.

Apparently the Glee kids will perform it on a Regionals episode, only Chord Overstreet character Sam Evans will use Psy classical glasses. The big question here is, Who will sing the whole song in Korean? Tina? Mike Chang will do a comeback? the whole Glee club will lip dub the song?

The video is finally here. Tina Cohen-Chang was the responsible for performing PSY hit Gangnam Style. Even though the lyrics sounded a little odd, the performance was good. Actor Jacob Artist on his role of Jake Puckermann truly showed up his dancing skills.

Who is Hyuna?

The name may sound you like a sexy Korean car brand, and if you don’t have too much interest in K-Pop you may have no idea at all about Hyuna world. Hyuna is a Korean singer and model whom you might remember as the subway girl who dances along with global star, Psy, in his well renowned music video “Gangnam Style” which has made all of us dance like horses.

This South Korean idol was born on June 6. With his 20 years old, she has been part of several bands such as Wonder Girls in 2007 and 4minute in 2009 to present. Her long legs, orange hair and white skin make it very hard not to stare at her like a masterpiece. Another attractive feature of Hyuna is her Pikachu like voice, her participation in Gangnam Style as a main dancer and practically main vocal showed a perfect combination with the fast and rapper like voice of PSY.

Hyuna is promoting her latest single “Ice Cream” where PSY gives a cameo at the beginning of the video eating ice cream. Hyuna plays an ice cream truck driver who crash boys, ask for love and stand for girl power. As many others K-pop videos present, the production is video is perfectly done, the photography, scenario, among others topics. Her voice doesn’t explode as well as on Gangnam Style, but this Korean idol has a long way ahead full of success.
