Check Out RED 2 Explosive Official Trailer

Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren and Mary-Louise Parker team up to bring back a group of retired operatives, from agencies of all over the world in RED 2. The sequel of the 2010 film is packing in a few new faces. I know… I know, since they’re mostly old agents from the Cold War and the likes they’re not really new new, but there are new characters to the franchise.

The newcomers include Catherine Zeta-Jones, as Miranda Wood who apparently is/ was involved with Frank Moses, Willis’ character, Neal McDonough (Ravenous), David Thewlis (Harry Potter), Byung-hun Lee (G.I. Joe) and Sir Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs) are in it as well. RED was a solid action-comedy flick. The upcoming sequel will hit theaters on August 2, 2013.

Apparently Karl Urban (Dredd) won’t be reprising his role as agent William Cooper… He’s probably too busy with Star Trek Into Darkenss.

The Expendables Could Recruit Jackie Chan

While attending a press conferences for the film Chinese Zodiac (CZ12), action star Jackie Chan mentioned that Sylvester Stallone gave him a role in The Expendables 3. According to Chan, his role will be more than a mere cameo. Chan explained:

Sly had invited me to be in Expendables 2, but I was too busy filming CZ12 and couldn’t make a commitment to the film. But he did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes.”

There’s still no official word on what role will Jackie portray in The Expendables 3. Ethan Anderton at First Showing noted that Chan asked Stallone if the third film would be a “buddy-buddy movie,” which it apparently is. Anderton assumed this could mean that Jackie Chan could be some sort of sidekick, but that’s just his speculation for now.

Stallone has also expressed interest in working with Harrison Ford and Wesley Snipes, there are rumours about Nicolas Cage possible involvement in the third action-packed film.

Karl Urban Returns in the Upcoming Riddick Sequel

Vin Diesel returns as Riddick in the third film of the franchise. Riddick director David Twohy recently released some photos from the film on his blog. The first picture gives us a good look at Karl Urban reprising his role as Vaako. The second one shows us the title logo for the film. The images also came with a production update from Twuhy saying,

Karl Urban returns as Vaako in the latest Riddick film

Been pulling 14-hour days trying to finish RIDDICK. My typical day starts at 9am with intensive visual effects meetings, sweating out the details of our 900 VFX shots. Then I jet across town to the mix stage, Soundelux, where I supervise the sound, balancing out the often-competing elements of music, sound fx, sound design, and dialog. At night I hit the lab, Technicolor in Hollywood, staying until midnight to do “DI work” — color-correction of the movie. This is where David Eggby and I have one last chance to get the images right, dropping in grads and power windows to finesse what we shot on set. It’s a great tool, the Digital Intermediate. Kind of like Photoshop for movies. Gotta love it. Gotta love the challenge of bringing it all home.”

The third pictures shows us the mercenaries that, according to the movie premise, are chasing Riddick in order to claim the bounty on his head.

Here’s the synopsis of the movie…

The notorious space-outlaw Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only escape for Riddick is to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a blazing storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.”

The first film of Riddick ‘Pitch Black’ was a great way to introduce the character and his world, kinda like space-horror, with a mix of Aliens too. While I wasn’t to keen of the second film is always great to see Riddick a.k.a Vin Diesel portray this space-outlaw with nothing to loose and nothing to gain. Hopefully there’ll be a good brawl or knife fight between Riddick and Vaako. Stay tuned for more… See you in space.

The movie stars Vin Diesel, Jordi Molla, Matt Nable, Katee Sackhoff, Bokeem Woodbine, Dave Bautista, Conrad Pla, Raoul Trujillo, Nolan Funk and Keri Hilson. At the moment the film does not have a release date.

Take a Shot of Stallone in ‘Bullet to the Head’

Sly is back with another action packed adventure ‘Bullet to the Head’. This time he portrays a hired gun, similar to Robert Rath, his character in Assassins back in 1995.

This is the basic premise of the film:

Sylvester Stallone is back as Jimmy Bobo, a New Orleans hitman who forms an alliance with Washington D.C. detective Taylor Kwon in order to bring down the killer of their respective partners. From director Walter Hill comes the action thriller “Bullet to the Head.”

The film stars Sylvester Stallone, Sung Kang, Jason Momoa, Sarah Shahi, Christian Slater. The film is scheduled for release on February 1, 2013.

Personally I can’t wait to see Stallone kick some butts in the good old days of action movies from the 80′s.

Tom Hanks and Robert Zemeckis in a new movie.

After tooling around with motion-capture for the last decade, director Robert Zemeckis makes his return to live-action this year with the drama Flight with Denzel Washington.  It’s a welcome change for the Back to the Future filmmaker, and it now looks like he plans on sticking with non-rubber faced people for the time being as Tom Hanks has provided a promising update on the space adventure Major Matt Mason.  The 3D pic is an adaptation of the popular action figure and will star Hanks as the titular Mason, an astronaut trapped on a moon base with a group of people.

The film would mark a welcome reunion between Zemeckis and Hanks, who previously teamed up on Cast AwayThe Polar Express, and of course Forrest Gump.  The Matt Mason story actually sounds a bit like Cast Away only with a group of people instead of one man, so it’ll be interesting to see what the duo has in store.

Stallone Could be Involved in Hunter

Some time ago, Sylvester Stallone was talking about making a fifth installment of Rambo. The main plot was the character hunting down a genetically engineered creature in the Pacific Northwest.

Hunter By James Byron Huggins

Hunter By James Byron Huggins

Stallone got the idea for this filme came from a novel called Hunter, written by James Byron Huggins. Sly had bought the rights to this book years ago, and at one point thought it would make a great new adventure for Rambo. However this project never moved forward.

Now Stallone is working on a version that will be a straight adaptation of the book, in which Stallone would portray an elite hunter name Nathaniel Hunter who is hired by the US military to hunt a dreadful creature made by secret experiments in the Arctic Circle.

We will soon be seeing Stallone gearing up to face the creature in merciless weather.
