After 7 years of “Grey’s Anatomy” success, creator Shonda Rhimes reveals one of the biggest secret kept from the media, Katherine Heigl 2008 Emmy Nomination Scandal. Rhimes sat down with Oprah Winfreyand told her all about the subject in Tv Special “Oprah’s Next Chapter”.
It was 2008 and “Grey’s Anatomy” was nominated for a Emmy Primetime Award. The writers proceed and Heigl stayed in the show for two more years when she resigned and stablished a carrer as a movie star.
“On some level it stung, and on some level I was not surprised,” Rhimes told Oprah as a quick response. “When people show you who they are, believe them. I carry that with me a lot. It has served me well.”
During an interview with E! News on January 2012, Katherine Heigl presented her enthusiasm for returning to the show and curiosity for knowing what truly happened to her character, Izzie Stevens. Meanwhile “Grey’s” creator doesn’t look for the same path.
In response to Heigl return request, Shonda Rhimes stated ”I think it was really nice to hear her appreciating the show. At the same time we are on a track we have been planning, but the idea of changing that track is not something we are interested in right now.”
