In 2011, salsa singer Marc Anthony made a visit to the Dominican Republic. During his trip, Anthony visited an orphanage on La Romana, (one of the Dominican Republic 31 provinces, better know for the luxurious hotel resorts located in the area) the emotion and the feeling was so big, the idea of helping the kids never left Marc Anthony’s head.
In 2012, the latin star created the Foundation ‘Maestro Cares’ along side Chicago businessman, Henry Cardenas. The Foundation first project was addressed to the orphanage Children of the Christ, the same one the singer has visited the year before. The plan consisted on a residence expansion, classroom installation and the construction of a baseball field for the kids to entertain. The funding directed to the orphanage was about 200 thousand dollars.
Last friday, November 23, on the ceremony of the laying of the first stone, Marc Anthony spend the time taking photos with the kids of the orphanage, that then were uploaded to his Facebook Page, with the phrase “What a special morning!”
