Kelsey Grammer ‘Boss’ Gets Cancelled

After two seasons and 18 episodes, Starz executive directors have decided not to continue with political drama television serial ‘Boss’ starring Kelsey Grammer.

Kelsey Grammer as a fictional Mayor of Chicago, Tom Kane, in TV series ‘Boss.’

The cause is the lower ratings the series faced two weeks after its premiere. ‘Boss‘ fell from having a 1.7 million viewers in the premiere to 268.000 viewers in the third episode. Regardless the series was awarded with the Golden Globe Award for Kelsey Grammer in Best Actor in a Television Drama Series category, the ratings couldn’t support the talented cast.

With a press release, Starz confirmed the cancellation and at the same time, thanked the outstanding cast and crew, and the extraordinary creator Farhad Safinia. This series joins the list of Kelsey Grammer failed attempts of returning to TV along side ‘Hank’ and ‘Back to you.’

Another issue that must be considered is Kelsey Grammer’s political views. During an interview with Jay Leno, Kelsey Grammer stated that his republican views may have cost him the Emmy nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series. Since that moment, the network had many eyes on it back expecting any statements or pronunciations towards Grammers comments.
