Previously we published of the upcoming appearance of DC Comics villain Firefly. Now The CW has released a promo for the midseason return of Arrow which shows the first look of the burning criminal. The teaser also revealed that Starling City’s masked vigilante (Stephen Amell) has been out of sight for six weeks, this leads us to believe that he was recovering from the wounds he sustained at the hands of the Dark Archer in the midseason finale.
In the episode, appropiately titled “Burned,” Oliver meets Garfield Lynns (portrayed Andrew Dunbar from SGU Stargate), a firefighter that was badly burned three years ago after his chief left him behind in a job. The ordeal turned him into a dark, vengeful man, which leads his wife and kids to abandon him.
Garfield Lynns a.k.a Firefly, is a pyrotechnics expert who takes the life of crime and designs a special suit, complete with flamethrower and grenade launchers, to aid him in his new career as a professional arsonist. In a recent attempt to burn Gotham to the ground, Firefly is horribly burned when the chemical factory he targeted explodes. He suffered burns over 90 percent of his body, and is ultimately sentenced to Blackgate Prison.
Arrow returns with new episodes Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
